GABINETE DE IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DO PROJECTO HIDROELÉCTRICO DE MPHANDA NKUWA

The Mphanda Nkuwa Hydropower Project Implementation Office (GMNK) has taken a significant step toward enhancing workplace well-being with the launch of its Health and Well-Being Policy, a strategic initiative designed to improve the quality of life, productivity, and sustainability of its workforce.

By prioritising employee health, preventive care, and work-life balance, GMNK is reinforcing its long-term commitment to corporate efficiency and human capital development.

This policy goes beyond standard occupational health measures by integrating a holistic approach to employee wellness. It aims to align workplace efficiency with well-being, ensuring that employees are supported not just professionally but also in their physical, mental, and emotional health. The initiative includes preventive healthcare programmes, psychological support services, nutritional guidance, and physical activities—all of which contribute to a healthier, more engaged workforce.

A key component of the policy is the promotion of preventive healthcare measures, encouraging employees to take a proactive approach to their physical and mental well-being. This includes regular health screenings, vaccination campaigns, ergonomic workplace enhancements, and access to wellness resources. Additionally, GMNK is providing mental health support through counselling services and awareness sessions, ensuring employees have the necessary tools to manage stress, anxiety, and workplace pressures effectively.

The launch of the Health and Well-Being Policy was marked by a lecture on mental health, emphasising the importance of psychological resilience and a supportive work environment. By creating a workplace culture that values health and wellness, GMNK is not only enhancing employee satisfaction and retention but also strengthening its operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

This initiative reflects the company’s broader vision of building a productive, motivated, and healthy workforce that drives sustainable development.
