Partnerships were created that will allow access to technical and financial support, institutional capacity building and financing, including the provision of necessary guarantees for the legal and financial structuring of the project.

- GMNK Technical, Financial and Capacity Assistance;
- Facilitate interaction with Government of South Africa;
- Legal and Financial Structuring (Public Participation);
- Review of the Terms of Reference (Environmental, Hydrological, Transmission, Hydrogen) of the Specialised Studies;
- Provide partial risk guarantees (PRG)
- Political risk (PRI) and funding;
African Development Bank (BAD)
- Advisory and consultancy to the project, including GMNK technical capacity;
- Facilitate interaction with Government of South Africa;

- Contracting of an Independent Consultant for the Project Certification in ESG;

Mphanda Nkuwa is the largest hydroelectric project under development in Mozambique. Its low energy production costs are expected to be among the lowest in the region, combined with relatively limited environmental and social implications.
